Davie's 'Leap of Faith'

David Mitchell became paralysed as a result of a serious accident in July 1998. He lives in an adapted house in Edinburgh provided by Margaret Blackwood Housing Association.

Davie's 'Leap of Faith' took place on 19 July 2003 at Skydive St Andrews in Fife. It was a long day as the wind was too calm for a tandem jump. He waited from 08.30 until 19.00 before the conditions were suitable. However, to compensate him for his long wait they took him up an additional 2000ft to give him extra freefall time.

This was a sponsored, tandem, free-fall parachute jump from 12000ft (3658 metres) in aid of the Margaret Blackwood Foundation.

As a result of this venture, on 16 October 2003, Davie presented the Foundation with the grand total of £957
